26 April 2016: On the downhill slide…or is it a slippery slope?

After today, I only have 3 workouts to go.  I am confident that I will be able to keep up with my sister for our 10k as I talked with her on Sunday. While my amazing sister’s training called for 5 miles on Friday and another 13 miles on Saturday (incredible!!!) — she said that her goal for Tinker Bell is simply to finish!  My sentiments exactly….although I AM going to make her run through the castle.

Now I’m starting to worry about what I’m going to do next after the Tinker Bell 10k.  I know that I have improved my health and stamina so I don’t want to regress, but it will be hard without a new goal in mind.  My sister said that our nephew wants to run the Star Wars 10k in January 2017.  His parents (my brother and SIL) said that they would walk/run the 5k if my nephew signs up for the 10k.  Then my sister reminded me that I apparently said I would run a 5k if my brother did.  (Is this totally confusing yet?)  Then my Mom, who was also on the phone call, said that if all her kids were doing the 5k – then she would too!  So I had to break it to my husband that I guess we’re all going to Disneyland in January 2017 to run the Star Wars 5k and/or 10k.  And I don’t even like Star Wars!

So maybe my goal will be to RUN the entire 5k, instead of run/walking it.  OR maybe I can do both the 5k and the 10k?  Who knows… I do need to make up my mind soon or I’ll simply let time get away with me once I return from California.
