Feb 3, 2016: Coughing and feeling poorly

While I was feeling a little off the night before the ChocoLoco 5k, I thought it was just nerves.   But no — I came down with a really bad cold and cough late Saturday.   So I spent all of Sunday binge watching TV shows, drinking hot tea and stayed in my pajamas.  It helped some but not enough.  I stayed home from work on Monday too.

Tuesday was my normal day for a run but I decided to skip it, since I still wasn’t feeling great.  This was the first time that I’ve consciously taken more than two or three days off in a row since I started training in mid-October.  I hope that it doesn’t set me back too much.

After work on Wednesday, I decided that maybe a little exercise couldn’t hurt.   I did a 35 minute workout, alternating 3 minutes walking with 2 minute jogs but Boy was I out of breath!  I have a few days until my running clinic on Saturday so I’m going to try and get in one more short workout.
