9 Jan 2016: A new year and new training

I kept up my running training over the Christmas holidays using the Zombies Run app.   I like the story line that intersperses with my own playlist and I like the fact that it calculates my mileage and pace.  I am, however, getting a little bored.  Fortunately I went to my first runner’s clinic at Luke’s Locker today.  I didn’t know what to expect but everyone seemed nice and Joan (the trainer) is helpful.

We walked over to a nearby track (the runners ran there) and Joan had us do moving stretches.   Then Joan split the track into sections – and had us “run” (or walk/jog) for about 30 minutes.  Then we headed back to the shop for core work.   I didn’t think that I got much of a workout, but later I realized that the squats that we did during the warmup were KILLERS!  I know I’m going to regret going all out…
