09 Apr 2016: Second round of 9 to 5 training

Today I started my second round of 9 to 5 training at Luke’s Locker with Coach Joan.  It was fun being an “oldie” instead of a “newbie” and it was fun to see that some of the girls from the previous round are still enrolled. This time Coach Joan is adding a 10k training schedule for the final race on June 4th, so 9 to 5 is really 9 to 10!

After the introduction to the new runners, Coach Joan took the new runners (and walkers) out for a 30 minute run and the rest of us went out for a 45 minute run.  I managed to run/walk over 3 miles and I felt pretty good.  In fact, during the last mile I slowed my pace a little and I was able to run a little longer than normal during mile 3.  My legs started to ache but I kept going as I could still breathe even though I felt like my legs were going to fall off!

4 weeks from today I will be running with my sister!  That means that I only have 3 weeks to complete my training for the Tinker Bell.  Where can I find the pixie dust?
