I bought a foam roller 2 days ago.   Everyone says that this will be a very good tool for recovery.  You may remember that we had the foam rolling class a week ago at my running clinic.  Today, however, I went to YouTube to find classes on how to use the foam roller.  There are lots of videos showing the various exercises using the foam roller.

I’ve used it twice now and it STILL HURTS!!  The doctor during the clinic said that this is normal but its amazing how much such a minor activity can hurt while you’re doing it.

I like the back exercises the best.  I’ve had a minor back injury in my mid-back for several years and the foam roller actually feels good when I do the back exercises.  But just using the foam roller for my legs is hard work.  My arms need more strength to get the foam roller to work in just the right positions and then when I get the roller settled, my arms feel like they are going to give out.   I’m going to try and continue using it for awhile and maybe my arm strength will improve.
