I went to my Luke’s Locker training class today and I ran for the first time since the Tinkerbell 10k. It was hot, the hills were tough, I sweated gallons — but I did it!
We did an interesting workout called the “cloverleaf”. We walked/jogged over to where Waugh crosses over Memorial, by way of Buffalo Bayou. Waiting on the grass for Coach Joan to show up — I had no clue of how this was going to work. But here’s a quick screen capture from my TomTom. On the second one, I’ve added arrows to show the direction of our run.
The challenge today was to run the cloverleaf – about 1 mile – then take a short break and then run it again. We had to write down our times for each mile and the Coach Joan awarded a prize to the person whose times matched the most closely. I wasn’t the winner — but one of the girls ran the same time for each lap! My laps were times at 12:58 and 13:10 — so 12 seconds difference between the two laps.
Then we walked/jogged back to Luke’s Locker. That means I clocked 4 miles today! No wonder I’m tired and sore…
