22 Oct 2016: One year anniversary celebration!

Just one year ago I started my running adventure.  On 21 Oct 2015, I bought my new running shoes and took my first run.  I alternated 15 seconds of running with 1 minute of walking.  I don’t actually know how far that I went, but my workout was 34 minutes using the Zombies 5k app.

Now 1 year later, I’ve completed six 5k and three 10k races.

So I celebrated today with my Luke’s Locker running buddies.  Our workout was the dreaded cloverleaf.  We walk/run to cloverleaf intersection at Memorial and Waugh.  When you run this cloverleaf, it incorporates both running uphill and down so you get a good workout.   We ran the entire cloverleaf, then ½ of it and then just a quarter of it.  My legs were screaming when I finished even though we had some breaks in between.  Once we were finished we ran/walked back to the shop.  I was the second person back just behind Wiley (our fastest runner).   I wanted to get back quickly as I had purchased quiche and apples for everyone to share and celebrate my “One year running anniversary!”
