Although I had my running clinic yesterday and ran/walked about a 5k, I ran again today. I’m getting kind of nervous that my 10k with my sister is now less than 4 weeks away, so I’m going to try and up my game to 4 workouts a week.
I went to Memorial Park with the goal of completing 6.2 miles whether I walked or ran. Unfortunately, however, I didn’t get to the Park until just before Noon so it was already close to 80 degrees when I started. My first 3 miles were a little over my normal training pace, but my second 3 were definitely a LOT slower. Even though the Park has water fountains along the path, I stopped at my car before starting the 2nd lap and grabbed my water bottle. I finished in 1 hour, 35 minutes (avg pace 15:21) which was okay because of the heat, but I’ll need to be a bit faster for Disney.
When I arrived home, I was famished! I normally get a little hungry after I run, but today was the worst. I drank tons of water while I made my lunch, but I think that running in the middle of the day and in the heat is something that I shouldn’t do too often.
