Today I ran my third 5k. I was hoping to run the entire 5k without stopping or better my time, but I did neither. It was much warmer while running than I expected so my capris and short-sleeved shirt were too much. I probably should have worn shorts and a tank.
But the good news is that my hubby walked the 5k while I ran. It was nice because he got to meet my Luke’s Locker buddies, see how we warmed up and then joined the race. I think he was proud of his time – 50:50! Hopefully this will encourage him to come with me occasionally. He kept a constant just over 16 minute pace (actually 16:22), which apparently is much better than when he walks on the treadmill. I’m not sure that he will admit it, but I think that the “race” atmosphere had him walking faster than a normal pace (even though it was a charity fun run).
Now I need to get serious with my 10k training.
